PROGRAMME OVERVIEW AND TIMELINE

CLIENTS AND CASE STUDIES

Notion started working with BT, one of the world's leading communications services companies, in the wake of a period of significant change and controversy for the company. Our challenge was to help BT restore their brand advocacy and improve employee confidence by helping them to modify the behaviours of their internal communications team.

Notion designed a bespoke development programme for the internal communications team called, ‘Developing Influence as a Trusted Advisor’ which introduced BT to Notion’s unique ‘Operational Coaching’ model. As a result of the programme, BT witnessed their Internal Communications Business Partners transform into ‘trusted advisors’, with new skills that enabled them to help leaders to engage more effectively with employees, and prepare them to lead through change.
"Asking a better question allows me to have the 'right' conversation that is necessary and leads to improved results."
"I coached a colleague to find the core issue that was stopping a renewal. They came up with a new solution, tested objections and made a £118,000 sale."
StepStone is one of the most successful online job board businesses in the world. They embarked on their journey with Notion to help their sales managers to leverage even higher performance across their teams so that they continue to attain stretching targets and revenue goals and retain their market-leading position. Notion’s programme introduced the Sales Managers to a new way of leading, managing and communicating using an ‘Operational Coaching’ approach.

Following the programme, StepStone recorded an 81% increase in time spent coaching with the vast majority of sales managers spending more time leading and coaching rather than ‘doing’. 100% of sales managers reported that they had improved their communication skills and initial commercial results included a record sales month, new clients, better negotiation, more effective meetings and an immediate 11 times return on investment.
The London School of Economics in a consortium with Notion, won government funding in 2019 for a research trial that would assess the impact of 'Operational Coaching' as a management style to drive productivity.

The Randomised Control Trial spanned 60 organisations, throughout 2020. The trial is the largest of its kind conducted anywhere in the world into how Managers can adopt and use operational coaching-related behaviours as an integral part of their day-to-day interactions.

The results showed that this new approach had a significant impact on performance, productivity, engagement, employee retention and bottom line growth, with a reported 74 x ROI per learner.
"An idea provided on one of the team meetings has help recognise variance in contract estimate submission of circa
£15-£25 million savings for the project."
"The new coaching techniques helped to save the organisation over £200,000 as a results of one colleague feeling empowered to have a better conversation"
Notion’s challenge was to help Scott Bader to develop a culture that delivered higher levels of ownership and responsibility for business performance. Over a 2-year period, Notion worked directly with groups of colleagues across EMEA, North America, Africa and in AsiaPac to build on the skills, initially of Leaders and then subsequently all of their Managers. The programme was designed to foster a culture that could use higher levels of 'enquiry' to question, challenge, empower and encourage their teams and colleagues, building levels of trust and commitment globally.

The ultimate goal, to drive a culture of curiosity, inquisitiveness and constructive questioning that enabled the growth of all colleagues and the organisation, was achieved.
